The funding, mentoring and incubation we provide innovators is aimed at benefiting the rural poor. Here is a small sample of the impact some of our innovations have had:

    Description
    ROPE is a model that provides global customers access to rural artisans who manufacture diverse products. ROPE's village production centers manufacture these products according to customers' requirements and ROPE ensures product quality and timely delivery. Customers choose ROPE products for social impact, lowest cost, uniqueness of designs and materials, superior quality and environmental impact.

    • 6 centers established to cover 7 villages
    • 200 artisans have been trained, out of which 80% are women
    • 110 artisans have gained employement
    • Income opportunity per artisan: Rs. 1500 to 3000 per month
    • Sustainable turnover: Rs. 7,50,000/-. (established within 5 months of operation)

    Description
    A pesticide-fertiliser formulation that combines the pesticidal properties of neem with potassium compounds, to reduce the intake of inorganic fertilisers and improve soil quality

    • 25 MT sold in 2007- 2008
    • Over 100 farmers benefited
    • Up to 50% saved on input costs say farmers

    An innovative Business Process Outsourcing model, where urban consumers outsource back-end support work (like processing cheques for a bank) to rural centres
